• disrespect or harassment
• unsafe or harmful behavior

🤝Consent & Boundaries

Consent is required in all partner interactions.

You must:

• respect verbal and non-verbal boundaries
• accept “no” without pressure or persistence
• check in when increasing physical connection or intensity
• prioritize your partner’s comfort at all times

Consent can be withdrawn at any moment.

🚪Right to Stop a Dance

Anyone may end a dance at any time, for any reason.

If this happens:

• stop immediately
• do not question or pressure
• respect the decision without discussion

🧠Safe Dancing

We prioritize injury prevention and responsible movement.

Avoid:

• unsafe or uncontrolled movement
• advanced techniques without proper training
• excessive force or risky leading/following

All dancers are responsible for dancing safely.

🚫Harassment

Harassment of any kind is not allowed.

This includes:

• unwanted physical contact
• intimidation or pressure
• inappropriate comments or behavior
• stalking or repeated unwanted attention
• online harassment connected to Duval Zouk

🗣Social Floor Etiquette

The social floor is for dancing—not instruction.

Please avoid:

• unsolicited corrections
• teaching or critique unless asked
• interrupting dances to give feedback

🍷Substance Use

Participants must remain safe and in control at events.

• If someone is visibly intoxicated and unsafe, they may be asked to leave.
• Unsafe behavior caused by substance use may result in removal from events.

⚖️Enforcement

Duval Zouk reserves the right to:

• give warnings
• have private conversations
• restrict participation
• remove individuals from events or community spaces
