Mfon Akpaete is the founder of Duval Zouk and a dedicated Brazilian Zouk instructor based in Jacksonville, Florida. Dancing Brazilian Zouk since 2018, she has committed herself to continuous growth - training with respected instructors and actively competing in Jack & Jill competitions to refine her technique, musicality, and connection.
Her teaching blends strong fundamentals with expressive freedom, creating a welcoming space where beginners feel confident and experienced dancers feel inspired. Through Duval Zouk, Mfon is building more than dancers - she's building community, culture, and meaningful connection through movement.
Brazilian Zouk is a partner dance that originated in Brazil, known for its fluid movements, musicality, and deep connection between partners. It features beautiful head movements, body isolations, and a flowing style that can be danced to a wide variety of music.
